Peyton Watson scored 105 points in his college career at UCLA, a span of 32 games.

In four NBA games for the Denver Nuggets from Jan. 7 through Jan. 13, Watson scored 115 points.

And this isn't meant to be some misleading stat, either. Watson didn't go to another school after UCLA. That was his lone season in college, and then he came to the pros.

He was just named Western Conference Player of the Week. Astounding for a guy who averaged 3.3 points per game in college basketball.

The NBA clearly wasn't fooled entirely, because he was taken with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

But was he ever going to be this player?

With Nikola Jokic out, Watson has been incredible. He just put up 31 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block on Tuesday night in a win over the Pelicans.

Still just 23 years old, Watson is averaging 27.8 points per game across his last five.

It's just been an astounding run for Watson, who has likely altered his entire NBA future.

Now that the Nuggets, and the rest of the league, have seen him do this? He'll be a prized commodity for years to come.

All from a guy who didn't do much of anything for an entire season at UCLA.
