Russell Westbrook is still hanging out in free agency waiting for another opportunity.
Those early offseason rumors of a big European contract seem a long time ago. The Nuggets don't seem likely to bring him back, either.
So what's next for Russ?
ESPN's Tim MacMahon thinks the Sacramento Kings are where Westbrook will end up, and that's logical, since they really need help at point guard.
"League sources consider the Sacramento Kings the most likely destination for Westbrook, who will turn 37 during the first month of the season," MacMahon writes. "If that's the case, Westbrook would likely come off the bench again and share ballhandling duties with free agency addition Dennis Schroder."

Westbrook is a fascinating free agency case.
He's a future Hall of Famer. He'll eventually have his No. 0 retired in Oklahoma City, too. He even had triple-doubles in this past season with the Nuggets.
He's also not a modern offensive weapon since his outside shot is lacking. He can at times be out of control and a turnover machine, too.
Westbrook is still capable of putting up numbers, but it's hard to imagine him having tons of positive impact on winning for Sacramento or anywhere else.
It's not that Westbrook doesn't deserve a contract, but that the name and numbers don't match the impact anymore.
The Kings would still do well to get Russ, because he'd fill minutes they still have to figure out. And at this point, it doesn't look like Westbrook has a bunch of other options, anyway.
