Doc Rivers didn't believe it.
He wasn't reacting all that differently than much of the basketball world.
When news broke of the Luka Doncic trade in February, of the Dallas Mavericks sending their generational superstar to the Los Angeles Lakers, it came so much out of nowhere that no one knew what to think.
Had Shams Charania been hacked with this news?
Or this alternative, which Milwaukee's head coach Rivers suggested on Monday: "I thought it was AI. I'm just being honest."
Bucks coach Doc Rivers, asked to reflect on his first reaction to the Luka Doncic trade nine months ago, just said pregame in Dallas: “I thought it was AI. I’m just being honest.”

MORE: Derrick Rose's son is already a rising basketball star
The Bucks play the Mavs in Dallas on Monday night.
And naturally, Anthony Davis is out injured.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic had 13 points and four assists in the first quarter on Monday night for the Lakers.
The common reviews of the trade certainly felt like the Lakers got the better half of the deal.
Seems like Rivers would agree with that assessment.
And besides: AI probably wouldn't have done that trade.
