Max Strus has been struggling to get into the lineup and make his season debut for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s been dealing with an off-season left foot surgery back in August. Now, it looks like Cleveland fans will have to wait even more when the team announced that Strus will miss another four weeks.

Max Strus is out for at least a month

However, it’s not like he’ll be out for the entire season. In fact, the franchise is doing whatever it can to ensure the safety of Max Strus, taking precautionary measures. There’s no question he’s one of the league’s best shooters, and his role on the team is essential to the team’s success in reaching the Larry O’Brien Trophy. This is exactly why the team is taking their time with Strus’s progress.

The Cavaliers expect to see Strus back on the court in early February. Until then, they will have to rely on their bench a bit more, especially Sam Merrill. Merrill has been the Cavs’ best shooter so far, in addition to his tendency to heat up in a hurry. His shooting tends to change the pace of the game, most often beneficial for the Cavs, and it’s up to him to keep up the momentum to increase the team’s success.

So far, the Cavaliers sit in the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference behind the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic, currently fighting as a play-in team. Although this is a downgrade to their massive regular season success they had last year, they are still a formidable team with superstar Donovan Mitchell and all-star Evan Mobley leading the way.
