Cavaliers' Luka Doncic trade proposal would've shaken up entire NBA image

The Luka Doncic trade from the Mavericks to the Lakers seemed to happen in the dead of night.

Very few NBA folks knew it was coming.

That limited the rumors and the ideas that usually follow around a player on the trade block.

So on Tuesday, ESPN's Bobby Marks released some Doncic trade ideas with the premise being, what if the Mavericks actually shopped Doncic around?

The most intriguing deal on the whole list would've been between Dallas and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Marks' proposal sent Doncic and Maxi Kleber to the Cavs for Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and an unprotected 2031 first-round pick.

The deal could've ruined the Cavs' chemistry during an all-time great season, or it could've given them such a dominant backcourt that it didn't matter.

Of course, this deal never happened. It apparently wasn't even on the table because the Mavs didn't feel like taking their time.

So we'll never know what a Cleveland-Luka alternate reality might've looked like.
