After a 15-0 start to the regular season last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers haven't been able to mirror that success into the 2025-26 regular season. Through seven games, they have a record of 4-3.
Injuries have been a consistent issue at the start of this season. Key rotational players like Sam Merrill, Max Strus, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland have all missed significant time so far.
However, Darius Garland was given a convincing injury update on Tuesday. The 2025 All-Star has been recovering from an offseason toe injury.
Report: Darius Garland could return as soon as Wednesday against the 76ers
Darius Garland hasn't been able to make his season debut after undergoing toe surgery in June. The setback was something he was dealing with at the end of last season, leading to him missing games in the playoffs.
According to The Athletic, Garland could make his season debut on Wednesday in their matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Garland, 25, will bring in some much-needed help to the Cavaliers' rotation if he's able to return as early as Wednesday. The two-time All-Star averaged 20.6 points, 6.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals while shooting 47.2% from the field.
He will look to help clean up some of Cleveland's shooting problems, which currently rank among the NBA's bottom five in field goal percentage (44.5%).
