The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a lot of starting lineups this season, but one that has stood out is the inclusion of sophomore Jaylon Tyson. He has become one of head coach Kenny Atkinson's favorites.
Against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, Tyson had a magnificent night. He posted 39 points, five rebounds, and four assists. It was such a good performance that Atkinson was raving about him after the game.
Atkinson is pleased with Tyson's performances
Over the past few years, the Cavs have always been known for their core group of players. Those are Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen.
With the impressive performances, it is a valid decision to maintain the core. Unfortunately, the injuries continue to pile up, especially with Garland. Mitchell has stepped up as the point guard again, and he has maximized his teammates again.

Tyson was one of the main beneficiaries against the 76ers. Mitchell dished out 12 assists, and Tyson scored plenty of points from those passes. After the game, Atkinson was excited about his sophomore player.
"39 points on 17 shots, everybody will be talking about the points without talking about his defense on Maxey. He hit a three then picked him up full-court. He was great on both ends, what a game, five-star performance," Atkinson said about Tyson's performance.
"That kid. Wow. That kid is different. That kid is different. Obviously, as a collective, we did what we needed to do. We weathered the storm… Every single person stepped up," Donovan Mitchell also said about Tyson after the game.
The excitement is real for Tyson because he continues to have a high ceiling for the Cavaliers. He might be the perfect player to have to support the core, and it will only keep getting better with time.
