The Chicago Bulls have been dealing with a plethora of injuries since the start of the 2025-2026 campaign. Josh Giddey will be out due to a hamstring injury for two weeks. Zach Collins is out with a sprained right toe, but is expected to return on January 10th. Jalen Smith is out with a concussion, while Matas Buzelis is down with an illness, despite both being listed as day-to-day.
Coby White's injury management
Coby White joined the fray after reinjuring his right calf during his game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 29th. He would miss the next three games against the New Orleans Pelicans, Orlando Magic, and Charlotte Hornets. He would return to play against the Boston Celtics, but came off the bench while being placed on a 25-minute restriction.
Although he had an off-night, scoring just 5 points while going 2-7 from the field and 1-5 from the three-point line, it’s clear the Bulls are taking precautionary measures to slowly ease White into the rotation. With Josh Giddey out, the team will depend on White to carry out his offensive responsibilities along with veteran Nikola Vucevic. However, it’s only possible if White remains healthy as he finally gets over the stagnant calf injury that sidelined him for most of the season.

With this in mind, White is questionable for his matchup on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. This is the first game of a back-to-back before the Bulls would go on to play the Miami Heat on Thursday for the second night. The franchise might limit White to play just one game while resting for the other due to injury management. Expect to hear more closer to gametime with the Pistons on his availability.
