The Chicago Bulls have been one of the most interesting teams in the league this season despite not making any big moves, but that could certainly change next season.
Throughout the past few years, the Bulls have been one of the most mediocre teams in the league, but they have made some moves to try and change that. From letting DeMar DeRozan leave last summer to sending out Zach LaVine in the middle of last season, the Bulls are clearly ready to move on from this era.
While there are still a few players on the team who were key parts of the DeRozan-LaVine era, one player is arguably just as important to that era as the two stars. Nikola Vucevic completed the Chicago Big 3 and is set to enter his sixth season with the franchise in just over a month, but it will almost certainly be his last with the Bulls.
Vucevic on the move?
Vucevic is on an expiring contract and will almost certainly be on another team by the time the 2026-27 season rolls around. However, the Bulls would likely want to get something back for the former All-Star instead of losing him for nothing.
In a recent article from Athlon’s Nathaniel Holloway, he made the case for Vucevic to be dealt during the upcoming season. Noting that Vucevic has been in trade rumors over the past couple of years, Holloway explained that it simply wouldn’t be shocking to see him on another team next season.
While the Bulls haven’t received the offer they’re looking for yet, that could easily come at some point before the trade deadline, especially if a team believes Vucevic could be the missing piece.
