Miles Bridges continues to show his belief in the Hornets' potential this season image

Miles Bridges is the longest-tenured player on the Charlotte Hornets, as he has been with the team since they drafted him in 2018. Through the years, he has been a key figure for the franchise, sticking with them through all the rough times.

This season, the Hornets are quite a promising bunch because of their talented group. Bridges and LaMelo Ball have become longtime veterans for this Hornets team, but they have promising wings such as Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel.

Bridges sees postseason potential for the Hornets

This season, the Hornets have had a rollercoaster campaign, as they have had some high highs and some low lows. Knueppel is a superb rookie, averaging 19.5 points per game on elite efficiency. Ball and Miller have high ceilings as offensive players, but they do have some nights when they struggle.

Amidst all of those players, Bridges is the team's leading scorer alongside Ball at a flat 20 points per game. Bridges is a versatile wing who can score inside the paint with his athleticism, but he has shown a willingness to shoot threes, averaging 32.5% from beyond the arc.

Bridges has shown veteran leadership for the Hornets, as he became fifth in the all-time games played tally for the Hornets after their game against the Chicago Bulls. He was the standout in this game, as he had 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Hornets. After the game, he made sure to address the Hornets' potential this season.

"In the first quarter, I noticed that our energy was done, and I had to get everybody else going. I figured I could get that done through defensive rebounding, and my scoring just came along... I love this team, especially when we're healthy. We gotta get our bigs back... Once we get those guys back, we'll be up and rolling," Bridges said after the win against the Bulls.

As the Hornets progress through this season, they would prefer to battle for a spot in the postseason. They are four games away from the final Play-In Tournament spot, which is held by the 17-20 Atlanta Hawks. The Hornets are at 12-23 after the win against the Bulls, which could open the doors of opportunity.

If Hornets head coach Charles Lee and his team can put it all together, the Hornets could surprise a lot of teams. With Bridges serving as one of their leaders, they have a reliable player who will be ready to keep spearheading the team.
