Hornets look to end losing streak that dates back to the Charlotte Bobcats image

The Charlotte Hornets have picked up some impressive wins lately, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder by 27 points last week and securing the NBA's biggest blowout this season, defeating the Utah Jazz by 55 points their last time out.

That said, Charlotte will face many upcoming tests this week on their current West Coast road trip. With a win in their next matchup against the Clippers Monday, the Hornets could put rough history behind them.

Earlier in the season, the Clippers defeated the Hornets by 15 points in Charlotte, behind 55 points from James Harden.

The loss extended a terrible losing streak by the Hornets against the Clippers. According to Hornets insider Sam Perley, Charlotte has lost their last 15 games against the Clippers (dating back to 2017), the second-longest active streak in the NBA. The longest streak of losses to a single opponent belongs to the Grizzlies who have fell in 16 straight games to the Thunder.

Additionally, the Hornets haven't won on the road against the Clippers since 2009, when they were known as the Charlotte Bobcats. In that game, Charlotte bested Los Angeles 100-95 behind 28 points from Emeka Okafor. Zach Randolph led Los Angeles with 33 points.

Although both teams are 12th in their respective conferences today, the Clippers have been on fire recently, having won eight of their last 10 games.

Following Monday's game against the Clippers, Charlotte will face the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets away from home.
