Hornets' Kon Knueppel gets positive news after missing one game with injury image

In the Charlotte Hornets' 120-105 win over the Orlando Magic on Dec. 26, Rookie of the Year candidate Kon Knueppel exited the game early after coming awkwardly while contesting a shot.

Knueppel, 20, wouldn't return to the game, which resulted in getting diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and missing the first game of his short career while the Hornets lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 29.

Heading into their New Year's Eve matchup against the Golden State Warriors,  Knueppel was given a new injury designation.

Kon Knueppel (ankle) is listed as probable for Dec. 31 vs. Warriors

On the NBA's official injury report, the Charlotte Hornets listed Kon Knueppel as probable for their game against the Warriors.

It appears that the ankle sprain isn't major, and Knueppel is leaning towards playing through the setback.

Miles Bridges (ankle) and Pat Connaughton (ankle) are questionable for the contest.

Ryan Kalkbrenner (elbow), Mason Plumlee (groin), and Grant Williams (knee) are listed as out.

Charlotte has run into their best 10-game stretch of the 2025-26 season, going 5-5 in the span.

As for the Warriors, they will be mostly healthy, listing Li Cryer and Malevy Leons as out while being assigned to the G League, and Seth Curry (sciatic) will also miss out on the game.
