The Charlotte Hornets wrapped up a five-game road trip Sunday night, facing the injury depleted Denver Nuggets.
Denver entered the game missing five key contributors, such as Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Cam Johnson, Jonas Valanciunas and Christian Braun.
As a result, the Hornets began the game with one of the most lopsided halves in team history. At the break, Charlotte led Denver 60-34 and led by 30 points after three quarters.
Dominating the interior was one of the biggest reasons why, as Charlotte outrebounded Denver 52-29 and outscored them in the paint 62-32. The Hornets finished the game with six players in double-figures including Brandon Miller who scored a game-high 23 points.
Although he didn't reach 10 points, Miles Bridges scored seven and passed Gerald Wallace for third most points in franchise history. Bridges now trails only Dell Curry and Kemba Walker.
Following the game, Bridges was all smiles, reflecting on his time in Charlotte and the encouraging progress that the team has made this year.
"I don't think I've ever had a winning record going on the West Coast since I've been here. So for us to pull that off against good teams too, it's good for us and hopefully we can keep it going."
Charlotte finished the West Coast trip 3-2 with the only defeats coming against the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.
Now headed back to Charlotte, the Hornets will have both Monday and Tuesday off before returning to action against the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday.
