Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas hasn't appeared in the team's lineup since Nov. 5 after suffering a hamstring strain.
The injury is something that the guard has been dealing with for a significant amount of time. It's the same hamstring he strained multiple times in 2024 that resulted in the 24-year-old appearing in just 25 games last season.
According to NBA insider Ian Begley, the Nets guard received an MRI earlier this week. The results said that Thomas is showing progress in the healing of the strained hamstring. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
How important is Cam Thomas to the Brooklyn Nets?
So far this 2025-26 season, the Brooklyn Nets have been far from a contender in the Eastern Conference.
With a 5-17 record, outside of Michael Porter Jr. (25.3 PPG), the Nets haven't had a player who averages over 15.0 points per game since Cam Thomas went down with his injury.
Cam Thomas is and will be the team's second scoring option once he returns. In the eight games he played in before suffering the setback, Thomas was averaging 21.4 points per game while shooting 40.2 percent from the field.
Although the Nets went 1-7 in those eight games, scoring has been their biggest problem this season. Currently, Brooklyn ranks last in the NBA in points per game (109.0).
After Michael Porter Jr. And Cam Thomas, the Nets' next leading scorers this season are Nic Claxton (13.5), Noah Clowney (13.5), and Ziaire Williams (9.6).
