NBA fans react to Jaylen Brown's 50-point outburst vs Clippers image

Jaylen Brown is on a mission for the Boston Celtics.

As the league expected the Celtics to enter the 2025-2026 NBA season with a gap-year approach, they’ve done the opposite. Brown’s contributions have been a major reason why the Celtics aren’t slipping in the Eastern Conference without Jayson Tatum.

The Celtics visited the red-hot Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, and the momentum meant nothing to Brown. He put together a standout outing, which set NBA fans off.

In 35 minutes, Brown shot 18-26 from the field, going 60 percent from three.

The star dropped 50 points in the Celtics’ blowout win over the Clippers.

@Adin_kiddactiv: MVP and they gave Brunson the POTM over him LOL.

@MrForever4_: MVP HIM

@masonfoster21: All NBA second team, all star starter!

@remiaxyz: jaylen went crazy today

The points will be all of the talk surrounding Brown, but he contributed in other ways as well. The star guard generated five assists, while turning the ball over just twice. He also had three rebounds.

@TruckBon: oh my gosh JB u are a demon

@Wunderxotwod: LEAGUE MESSED UP

@a1anthony: He is in MVP convos

@Zeke_UTD: Took that player of the month seriously

Earlier this week, the NBA announced the Players of the Month for December. Brown was hoping to see his name representing the Eastern Conference, but he landed an honorable mention.

The league chose Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, which clearly struck a nerve with Brown. Not only did he send out a direct social media reaction to the news, but he addressed it on a live stream, claiming he had the best stretch to close out 2025.

Saturday’s 146-115 win was clearly a statement from Brown.

Heading into Saturday’s action, Brown was averaging 29.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 50 assists per game. He is shooting 50 percent from the field and 35 percent from three this season.

After the Celtics improved to 21-12 on Saturday, they maintain their spot as the third seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics will be back on the court on Monday to host the Chicago Bulls
