Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown exploded for 50 points during Boston’s 146-115 throttling of the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.
Brown knocked down 18 of his 26 shots from the floor in the contest and also added five rebounds and three assists.

After the game, Brown made a bold claim regarding his status in the game.
"I believe I'm the best two-way player in the world," Brown said. “So I just wanted to come out and show it."
Brown is certainly in the conversation when it comes to the best two-way players in the NBA, and you can’t blame the four-time All-Star for feeling cocky, or confident, after his monster performance.
When asked when he knew that he might be in store for a big game against the Clippers, Brown said that he knew before the ball was even tipped. He also credit dance classes for the performance.
"I knew before the game," Brown said. "In warmups, I could just feel like every shot, the ball was coming off my hand super clean. My footwork felt great. I did salsa last night. Had some great salsa classes. So I felt good as soon as I walked into the arena."
The 50-ball was just the latest feat in what has been an excellent season for Brown, who has elevated his game in Jayson Tatum's absence. On the season, Brown is averaging a career-high 30.1 points per game, along with 6.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists. The assist number also represents a career high.
Brown's productive play is a big part of the reason that the Celtics currently sit third in the Eastern Conference with a 22-12 record.
