Sam Hauser ahead of Larry Bird?
Well, at least on this one impressive NBA history leaderboard, the current Celtics forward slightly outdoes the Boston legend.
The stat: Individual winning percentage.
This is the top-five, shared by StatMuse (with a minimum of 150 games played):
- .747 - Cason Wallace
- .740 - Magic Johnson
- .739 - Rick Carlisle
- .738 - Sam Hauser
- .736 - Larry Bird

Wallace is on the current Oklahoma City Thunder.
Magic needs no introduction.
The current head coach Carlisle was once a teammate of Bird's in Boston.
And then you've got Hauser, incrementally ahead of Bird.
Hauser will play a sneakily large role in keeping himself ahead of Bird on this chart this season in what will be a difficult situation.
The Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum for at least most of the season after a torn Achilles. That'll press the small forward Hauser into a larger role, giving him a great impact on winning basketball games.
Hauser averaged a career-high 9.0 points per game in 2023-24, then put up 8.5 points per game last season.
In his career, Hauser is a 42.0% 3-point shooter, an impressive number that should hold up even if Hauser plays more.
He's going to have to hit outside shots at that frequency to stay in the top-five of the all-time winning percentage leaderboard.
