The Boston Celtics appeared in the headlines last Tuesday after signing a two-time NBA champion ex-Golden State Warriors forward to assist Jaylen Brown.

On Monday, the signing became official, according to the franchise’s X/Twitter account.

“Welcome to Boston, Chris Boucher,” the Celtics wrote on the popular social media platform.

Boucher spent his first NBA season with the Warriors following a productive senior campaign at Oregon, winning a title alongside Stephen Curry.

Granted, Boucher only appeared in one contest with the Dubs, but capturing a championship from the get-go is undoubtedly a notable achievement.

In 2018, the 32-year-old veteran signed with the Toronto Raptors and enjoyed instant team success.

The Kawhi Leonard-led Raptors defeated the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals, helping Boucher secure his second title in the big leagues.

Still, the Castries, Saint Lucia native contributions were minuscule, as he only averaged 3.3 points and two rebounds per game in 28 clashes.

As time progressed, however, Boucher’s comfort level increased, enabling him to morph into a serviceable rotational piece with Toronto.

Boucher is coming off his second-most impactful three-point shooting campaign as a valuable stretch four. The former G-League MVP connected on 36.3% of his triples while notching 10.0 points and grabbing 4.5 rebounds nightly last season.

While Celtics fans are likely still crushed that the organization will have to compete for most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season with Jayson Tatum (who’s nursing an Achilles injury), they should be excited about Boucher bringing his winning background and versatile skill set to Boston.
