Celtics legend Isaiah Thomas hints at his return destination to continue basketball career image

Isaiah Thomas wants to keep playing basketball.

It's just not clear the NBA would want the diminutive lefty guard who once upon a team took the league by storm with the Boston Celtics.

Thomas has his eyes set overseas, though.

On X, Thomas posted this:

There's no better basketball outside the NBA than in the EuroLeague, the top continental competition in Europe. It'd be a great spot for Thomas to land.

The 5-foot-9 guard is 36 years old now, so there are probably some teams that wouldn't consider signing him.

Others would want to see if the southpaw can still put the ball in the bucket. We're betting he can.

Thomas' last NBA action came in the 2023-24 season with the Phoenix Suns. That was just six nondescript games.

He was an All Star in back-to-back seasons in 2015-16 and 2016-17, but the journey after that was a bit disappointing.

Thomas was a beloved player in Boston, but he needed to be at his absolute peak form to make it work at his size.

He's probably got a few buckets left in him, though. Maybe a team in Europe will try to find out.
