Celtics' coach Joe Mazzulla shares the heartfelt reason he misses Luke Kornet image

Luke Kornet was back in Boston this weekend.

His new team, the San Antonio Spurs, were taking on the Boston Celtics, so the fan favorite big fella got a lot of love throughout his return.

One cool moment came when Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was asked what he missed most about Kornet.

"I miss going to Mass with him," Mazzulla said, referring to the Catholic service. "We'd go to church on the road."

That's a cool way to remember a player. It doesn't have to be about the impact a guy makes on the floor.

Clearly, Kornet accompanying Mazzulla to Mass meant a lot with him.

Mazzulla is a prominent Catholic figure in the sports world. He has taken part in various messaging for the popular Catholic app, Hallow.

Kornet has also written online about his Catholicism in the past.

The center received a lot of love in his return to Boston, including a surprise hug from Jayson Tatum during a timeout.

Maybe he and Mazzulla will get a chance to share in their faith together again soon.
