The trade rumors have continued just a couple of days after it was reported that the Hawks would look to part ways with four-time NBA All-Star Trae Young.

There have been several teams that have been viewed as potential trade suitors in a deal, but one might have just emerged to the top after a recent injury report was released.

What team might be the favorite to trade for Trae Young?

NBA insider Marc Stein had already reported that the Wizards were a "legitimate trade destination for Atlanta's Trae Young," and a recent injury report may be the next step to having that come to fruition.

Both the Hawks and Wizards are set to play Wednesday night, and both Trae Young and Washington guard CJ McCollum have been ruled out with injuries.

Young, who has already missed the last five games, will miss a sixth straight with what is being described as a quad contusion.

McCollum, on the other hand, hasn't missed a single game this season and is being ruled out with a sore right quad.

Now, we can't come to any definite conclusions, but it feels like something is brewing when you consider the timing of this, given that several new developments have been reported over the last 48 hours.

McCollum has the second-highest AAV contract on the Wizards, which means there's a high chance he would be included in a trade if one were to happen, as they'd need to match the money they'd be bringing in.

Khris Middleton's $33 million contract is set to expire after this season, so the Wizards are in a position to take on a contract like Young's, with the potential departures of Middleton and McCollum.
