Hawks' Jalen Johnson sets new NBA record for 20-15-5 history image

Jalen Johnson's season continues to be a special one for the Atlanta Hawks.

The latest exceptional moment came Friday night, when Johnson set a new NBA record.

The feat is quite specific: Johnson is the youngest forward in NBA history to record three consecutive games of at least 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists, according to Real Sports.

The stretch began with a game against the Milwaukee Bucks when Johnson went for 28 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists.

Then a couple days later against the Memphis Grizzlies, Johnson put up 32 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists.

And in a win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday, Johnson finished with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists.

Johnson is 24 years, 37 days old as of Saturday.

The No. 20 overall pick out of Duke in 2021 has blossomed into a rising superstar for Atlanta.

On the season, Johnson is averaging 23.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He's also shooting 51.2% from the floor.

He proved in Trae Young's injury absence early in the season that Atlanta can be a strong team without its divisive point guard, and he did it so well that the Hawks ended up trading Young to the Wizards.

This is Johnson's team now, and he's proving he can carry the load.
