UFC announced plans for another country debut image

The UFC will debut in Qatar this November with a special fight night event.

Set for November 22, the Octagon heads to Doha, Qatar and the state-of-the-art ABHA Arena. It will be the debut for the UFC in the country.

No matches were announced in the press release for UFC Fight Night Doha, but it was noted that "the event brings the electrifying energy of a blockbuster showdown to fans in Doha and across the Middle East."

World Cup and Formula 1 races have been held in the region, as UFC CEO Dana White noted.

"I've always said we're going to take UFC all over the world - and Qatar is the next stop," White said. "Our fights in the Middle East are always incredible so I can't wait to get out there."

It had previously been rumored that the UFC would host an event in Qatar this past May featuring Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales, but that was competed in Las Vegas from the Apex.

The next UFC event is set for this Saturday night with Derrick Lewis facing Tallison Teixeira from Nashville, Tennessee. In the coming months, the promotion will head to Abu Dhabi, China, France and Canada along with stops around the United States.
