The Toronto Blue Jays had a great season a year ago, and a lot of that was due to what they were able to do on both sides of the baseball.

The Blue Jays are a very talented team from top to bottom and deserve a lot of credit for making the World Series and not only getting there, but also having a real opportunity to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers. Had it not been for one unfortunate moment, Miguel Rojas hitting a home run off Jeff Hoffman, the Blue Jays would likely be World Series champions right now.

Looking ahead to what Toronto might do this offseason, there’s reason to believe the organization will do whatever it takes to put itself back in position to win a World Series. According to the latest from Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet, that could even include a reunion with left-handed reliever Tim Mayza.

“Could left-hander Tim Mayza find his way back to the Blue Jays, perhaps on a minor-league deal?”

Mayza isn’t elite by any means, but for the Blue Jays, he’s certainly valuable and can eat up innings out of the bullpen. Over the past few years, he’s bounced around the league, last appearing with Toronto in 2024. Over his eight-year professional career, he’s been more than serviceable, posting a 3.87 ERA across 308.1 innings.
