The Toronto Blue Jays are doing their best to keep up with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They have come out very aggressively so far this offseason, filling holes left and right.

They needed to bolster their starting rotation and did just that by striking deals with both Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce. They also went out and signed Kazuma Okamoto and added the exciting submariner that is Tyler Rogers.

There are still a few holes to fill, but at this point in the offseason, Toronto fans should feel good about where their team currently sits.

Tyler Rogers is one of the most unique relief pitchers in the game today. He is a true submarine pitcher, meaning his arm slot more closely resembles a softball pitcher rather than a baseball pitcher.

This is becoming a dying art as the number of submarine pitchers has fallen off dramatically over the years. However, that does nothing but help Rogers.

With limited submarine pitchers out there and the defense that will be playing behind him, Rogers could be in store for a great season. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer points to him as a player to watch out for this upcoming season.

"One would feel good about Rogers on any team. But given the strength of the defense he'll have behind him, one feels especially good about him as a Blue Jay."

Rogers will likely serve as a high-leverage arm to get the ball to the ninth inning. At this current time, Jeff Hoffman is expected to be the closer this upcoming season, but that is not guaranteed.

Rogers should pair nicely with the other arms like Louis Varland and Yimi Garcia, and Toronto's bullpen can be one to watch out for during the 2026 season.
