MLB insider reveals Blue Jays' free agent status for Bo Bichette, Kyle Tucker image

The Toronto Blue Jays have been one of the busiest teams of the offseason so far. They've made a few key additions, but all have been with the pitching staff.

Dylan Cease signed for $210 million, Cody Ponce for $30 million, and Tyler Rogers for $37 million. Their next move might aim to resolve their lineup, with interest in Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette.

For MLB insider Robert Murray of Fansided.com, the Blue Jays are expected to remain active in free agency, and more interestingly, are seen as likely candidates to bring in one of Tucker or Bichette this winter.

Blue Jays expected to add big-name free agent to lineup

"Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker remain in play for the Toronto Blue Jays." Murray writes, "... It would hardly be a surprise if they landed one. Two, however, might be a stretch. But look for the Blue Jays to add a big name to the offense..."

This report from Murray doesn't reveal any ground-breaking new information that drastically alters the outlook of the offseason. But what it does do is strongly connect the Blue Jays to Bichette and Tucker, and paint a clear picture of a lineup upgrade in some form.

It might not be either, and they could instead go after someone like Ketel Marte. But, regardless of how it works out, the Blue Jays are expected to bolster their lineup this winter, and Tucker and Bichette are the most likely options.

Toronto has been active this offseason, and after the MLB Winter Meetings and as Christmas and the New Year approach, the Blue Jays are expected to continue adding to their lineup this offseason.

And it won't be small additions either. Murray's report points to big-name options being the most likely ones for the Blue Jays this winter, indicating that Toronto is far from done adding to this roster this offseason.
