The Toronto Blue Jays came so close to winning the 2025 World Series, losing Game 7 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in extra innings.
After such a great season, the Blue Jays head into a winter where they will have to make big decisions regarding Bo Bichette and any other free agents on the market.
But, for MLB insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Blue Jays are expected to be among the most aggressive teams this winter. Nightengale revealed why, and it's a $50 million reason thanks to the team's World Series run.
MLB insider reveals exciting Blue Jays offseason plan
"They just earned an extra $50 million or so in revenue from their World Series run." Nightengale writes. "They'll put it right back into the team and could be the favorite for Kyle Tucker."
There are two points from this report from Nightengale that are very compelling for the Blue Jays. Their interest in Kyle Tucker, potentially being the favorite for the star outfielder, is very exciting.
But the more noteworthy part of this report is that the Blue Jays, in the process of getting an extra $50 million in revenue from their World Series run, are planning on putting it back into the team this winter.
A lot of teams, like the Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers, are looking to keep their payroll about the same or even decrease it after their strong seasons.
The Blue Jays are the opposite. After coming one win away from a World Series title, the Blue Jays front office is planning to be aggressive this winter and invest more into this team to try and get back and win a World Series.
Nightengale's report is a good sign for Blue Jays fans this offseason, as Toronto's ownership and front office are planning to stay aggressive in improving the team. So much so that they could be the favorites to land the top free agent and keep Bichette.
