The Toronto Blue Jays are in the market for some of the biggest free agents on the market, with Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker being the two most often linked to Toronto.
Even after their $210 million Dylan Cease signing, the Blue Jays are still going after the top free agents. And on Wednesday, the first sign of things heating up for Tucker got reported.
According to MLB insider Robert Murray of Fansided.com, Tucker was spotted at the Blue Jays facility, in what could be a precursor to the Blue Jays making an offer.
Latest Kyle Tucker report is good news for Blue Jays
"Free agent outfielder Kyle Tucker was spotted at the Toronto Blue Jays' facility in Dunedin, Fla., on Wednesday, according to sources familiar with the situation," Murray reports.
Toronto has been linked to Tucker for much of the offseason, and even after signing Cease for $210 million, Cody Ponce for $30 million, and likely being involved in other free agent markets, Tucker is still a very likely possibility for Toronto.
He is 28 years old and coming off a solid season for the Chicago Cubs, recording a.266 batting average with 4.6 bWAR in 136 games played in his one season in Chicago.
He's a four-time All-Star, two-time Silver Slugger, and he's also been a top-five MVP candidate and won a Gold Glove award.
Landing a player like Tucker, who's likely going to get the biggest deal of the offseason, would be a massive boost for the Blue Jays.
While it might lead to Bo Bichette finding a new team due to positional constraints, Tucker coming to Toronto would be the offseason's biggest move.
This report from Murray isn't any specific indication that Tucker is signing a deal, or close to one. But it's a sign that there's, at least, mutual interest, and could kick off contract negotiations between Tucker and the Blue Jays.
