One of the biggest names still available on the free-agent market is Kyle Tucker. The All-Star right fielder is poised to command a hefty contract. Tucker is coming off a season with the Chicago Cubs, where the organization tried to make it work, but it doesn’t appear he will be returning.

“We'll see what happens. Don't know what the future is going to hold. If not, it's been an honor playing with all these guys and wish everyone best of luck whether it’s playing next year or not with them,” Tucker said.

Instead, Tucker is expected to sign a lucrative deal elsewhere. That destination could very well be the Toronto Blue Jays, who are coming off a World Series appearance.

“The Blue Jays have made no secret about the fact that, after coming oh-so-close to a championship in 2025, they are stepping on the gas this offseason in pursuit of that goal. Toronto struck quickly to add Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce to its rotation and Tyler Rogers to the back of its bullpen. But what it hasn’t done is bolster a lineup with one major missing piece (free agent Bo Bichette) and a clear opportunity to improve in the corner outfield,” MLB.com’s Andrew Simon wrote.

Landing Tucker would be huge for the Blue Jays, but there is one potential downside: Bo Bichette likely wouldn’t return.

“The only thing that I don't see is Toronto getting Tucker and Bichette,” MLB insider Feinsand said.

Tucker would strengthen the Blue Jays’ lineup and add valuable World Series experience—exactly what the team is seeking as their confidence in returning to the Fall Classic is at an all-time high.

Tucker in right field would be a major boost, complementing a rotation that has already been reinforced. While the pitching is shaping up, the team still needs a big name to fill a key role in the outfield.
