The Toronto Blue Jays are facing a 2-0 deficit in the ALCS, and are now going to Seattle with uncertainty about their future. They’ve been outscored 13-4 so far this series, so this offseason, they definitely need to address their pitching.

Fansided’s Wynston Wilcox believes they will, and predicts they’ll pursue the top ace on the market, Detroit Tigers Cy Young Tarik Skubal.

“The Blue Jays had to rely a lot on their bullpen this season thanks to inconsistent form from their starters. That won’t lead to year-over-year success. Adding Skubal will be a top priority if he becomes available: Toronto wasn’t able to add Soto last year (or Shohei Ohtani the year prior) like they had hoped, so they can’t falter at adding much-needed pitching help to turn this run into a dynasty,” Wilcox wrote.

This season, Skubal finished with a record of 13-6, an ERA of 2.21, 241 Ks, and a WHIP of 0.891 over 195 innings pitched. He’s arguably the best pitcher in the MLB, and is far superior to any pitcher the Jays have.

With one year left on his contract and the Tigers’ inability to play well during his starts, Skubal may want out. He’ll look for a team that will give him run support, and the Jays are one of the best offenses out there.

Hopefully, after missing out on other White Whales in Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto, the Jays finally catch one in Skubal and make sure their championship-level team stays at full strength.
