The Toronto Blue Jays are coming off a fantastic season where they made it all the way to the World Series. However, they were bested by the Los Angeles Dodgers in a thrilling seven-game series. 

Now, the club turns to the offseason to try to put a similar or even a better product on the field for the 2026 season. However, they have some holes they need to fill. 

They must figure out if they want to chase Bo Bichette. On top of that, they could use some more stability in the bullpen to help lock down some games next season.

While Toronto could use a closer, they could also use some middle-relief help. Luckily for them, there are quite a few options on the open market. 

Blue Jays Nation's Ryley Delaney makes the case for the team to sign veteran left-handed reliever Andrew Chafin. 

"Brendon Little as the team's top left-handed pitcher out of the bullpen may not be ideal, given his second half of last season and his playoff performance. If the Jays wish to bring in a more experienced left-handed reliever to pitch in high-leverage, Andrew Chafin could be an option."

Chafin has taken a step back with age, but is still a great middle-relief option for the 2026 season. He comes with years of experience, pitching in nearly every situation. 

On top of that, Chafin would not cost the team much money. Some believe he will sign for a short-term deal, valued at around $2.5 to $4.5 million.

Chafin would not be an earth-shattering move, but it would be one that could help stabilize the middle of the bullpen for the team up North.
