The Toronto Blue Jays are among the top teams expected to be aggressive this winter. They've already shown such motion, signing Dylan Cease to a $210 million deal.
But, they're still linked to Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker, among others, to improve the lineup. When it comes to the bullpen, however, other than Robert Suarez, the options are beginning to dry up.
According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic, one way the Blue Jays plan to circumvent the bullpen market could be by trading one of their depth outfielders.
Blue Jays considering trading outfield depth for relief pitching
"One way for the Blue Jays to add a reliever is by trading one of their lesser outfielders," Rosenthal and Sammon write, "an option they are considering, according to people briefed on their plans."
Three outfielders fit the bill for Sammon and Rosenthal. Nathan Lukes, Myles Straw, and Joey Loperfido all could be trade options this winter for the Blue Jays.
Lukes might be the team's starting outfielder in 2026 in left field if they don't wind up signing Kyle Tucker, while Loperfido and Straw are beloved teammates.

Trading one of these outfielders would make a lot of sense, and would be especially worthwhile if they end up signing Tucker or landing another outfield option.
It's been an offseason rife with trade rumors for the Blue Jays so far, and this report from Rosenthal and Sammon creates a future plan if Toronto can sign Tucker.
While nothing is set in stone, nor close to being complete, the Blue Jays' outfield depth is something worth keeping a close eye on as the offseason progresses.
