Bo Bichette remains a free agent.
The Toronto Blue Jays' shortstop is in a good spot, though.
Why?
The shortstop market is almost empty.
It was really emphasized in a new list released by MLB Trade Rumors on Thursday. It shows what the remaining free agent pool at Bichette's position looks like.
And, well, it's not inspiring.
These are the remaining free agent shortstops:
- Tim Anderson
- Orlando Arcia
- Bo Bichette
- Isiah Kiner-Falefa
- Jorge Mateo

IKF and Mateo also play other spots on the infield.
Bichette is the only guy there that you'd give a multi-year deal to.
He's expected to command well over $100 million for the totality of his contract.
Anyone who needs a shortstop pretty much can only choose from Bichette. There aren't any alternatives. That should push his price up and allow Bichette to make out very well when he signs a contract.
