Blue Jays' Bo Bichette admits thoughts about leaving Toronto after World Series image

Bo Bichette knows this could be it.

He admitted as much before Game 6 of the World Series, when the Toronto Blue Jays' star infielder was asked about what will be coming next for him after this season.

Bichette, in the last year of his contract, was honest, via The Athletic's Mitch Bannon:

“I’d be lying if I hadn’t thought about that at some point in the season, but I’ve got a World Series to win.”

That's obviously the right and fair answer.

It wouldn't make sense for Bichette to act like he doesn't realize this is the end of his current contract.

But it also surely isn't his main concern at the moment.

Bichette is back at second base in Game 6 with the Blue Jays clinging to a 3-2 series lead and trying to close it out Friday night.

He was the DH for the last couple games, but with George Springer back in the lineup, Bichette goes back into the field.

He's usually a shortstop, but since returning from his left knee sprain, he's played second instead.

That shouldn't impact his contract too much. Bichette is expected to be the best shortstop on the free agent market.

If he helps Toronto win the World Series, it'll be tough to let him get away. But the Blue Jays have already paid Vladimir Guerrero Jr., so it's not clear if they'd be willing to be the highest bidder for Bichette.

First things first, though, like Bichette said: There's a World Series to win.
