Not many things are better to have on an MLB roster than a solid and productive utilityman.

A guy that can play nearly every position on the field at any given moment, as well as providing solid production with the bat is extremely hard to find.

The St. Louis Cardinals have that in the form of Brendan Donovan, but according to the latest reports, that may not be the case for much longer.

MLB insider Jon Morosi has reported that several teams have inquired with St. Louis about a potential trade for Donovan. Morosi has listed the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York and New York Yankees as the teams most interested in Donovan, with the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros also being listed as fits.

Last season may have been the best of Donovan's four-year career, as he posted a career best.287 average along with the first All-Star Game selection of his career. He's also stellar with his glove, as shown by his Gold Glove Award win as a rookie in 2022.

Donovan would be an excellent depth piece for any of the teams listed above that are interested. With three years of team control left, the package to make a move for Donovan may be a hefty one for whoever decides to make the move.
