Ferguson is a 6-foot-3 lefthander from Columbus, Ohio. He just turned 29 years old. This season he has made 45 appearances and thrown 43.1 innings, allowing 33 hits and 18 earned runs. He has struck out 34 and walked 14 on the season.
He came up with the Dodgers in 2018 and pitched in 29 games, and made three starts. He has actually made 14 starts in his career. He sits with a career record of 21-15 and has an ERA of 3.69 in his career. This season, his ERA sits at 3.74. He has 10 holds, and his career high is 17.
The Seattle pitching is 16th in the league, allowing 4.4 runs per game. Teams are hitting .242 against them, which is also right in the middle of the pack. The Mariners, of course, have been led offensively by slugger Cal Raleigh, who leads the league with 41 home runs.
The Mariners are 57-51 as they started Wednesday, and trail the Houston Astros by four games in the American League West. The Rangers are just a game behind them in the standings. Pittsburgh, of course, is at the bottom of the National League Central standings.

The Pirates will receive Class A pitcher Jeter Martinez in return for the lefthander.
Seattle plays at the Athletics Wednesday night, and then opens a four-game home series against the Texas Rangers on Thursday.
