Jurrangelo Cijntje has captured the imagination of the baseball world.

The Seattle Mariners' switch-pitching prospect will get a chance to do that on a bigger stage soon.

He has been named to the Futures Game at All-Star Weekend. Cijntje is one of three Mariners' prospects who will be involved, along with catcher Harry Ford and outfielder Lazaro Montes.

Cijntje was Seattle's first-round pick in 2024. And yeah, he pitches with both his left arm and right arm.

In 15 appearances this season for High-A Everett, Cijntje is 4-4 with a 4.88 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 51.2 innings.

On Baseball America's most recent top-100 prospect list, Cijntje is No. 80.

Ford makes his third consecutive Futures Game appearance. And the North Cobb High School graduate gets to play this one near his hometown in Atlanta. At Triple-A Tacoma, Ford is batting .305.

Montes is a 6-foot-5, 250-pound Cuban outfielder who leads minor league baseball with 21 homers so far this season. He was recently promoted to Double-A Arkansas.

Cijntje is the most unusual here, but Ford and Montes are their own types of different. Ford is a speedy catcher who can also play right field and stole 35 bases last season. And Montes is a hulking slugger, with few guys in pro baseball as big and strong as he is.

Hopefully, Cijntje will get the chance to throw from both sides at the Futures Games.
