There's a chance you've never seen an at bat like this.

Mariners rookie Ben Williamson stepped to the plate on Tuesday night, and he looked at five consecutive pitches without swinging.

All five of them touched the strike zone.

But only one was called a strike. The other four were ruled balls, and Williamson walked without even attempting to swing at five pitches in a row that at the very least nicked the strike zone.

That's pretty tough by the home plate umpire. Conceptually, any pitch that touches any part of the strike zone is supposed to be a strike.

There's always a chance the computer graphic is a bit off, but it doesn't seem likely at this point.

Williamson just ended up as one of the luckiest guys to reach base in baseball history. This game always has something new to share.
