After making the ALCS, the Seattle Mariners entered the offseason to build a team worthy of contending for a World Series once again.

Josh Naylor returned, Colt Emerson is likely to be called up, and there is liekly other moves on the horizon. But, in the meantime, the Mariners and Randy Arozarena avoided arbitration.

According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, Arozarena and the Mariners have agreed to a huge $15.65 million contract for the 2026 season that ensures the star outfielder is returning in 2026.

Mariners' Randy Arozarena agrees to $15.65 million contract

"Randy Arozarena and the Mariners have agreed to a $15.65 million deal to avoid arbitration, per source," Feinsand reports.

Arozarena is coming off a strong 2025 season with the Mariners, where he earned his second All-Star nod and his first since coming to Seattle.

He hit.238 with a.760 OPS, but his 27 home runs, 76 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases made him one of the more dynamic players in baseball.

There's room for improvement, but overall, a 4.0 bWAR season from Arozarena was his second-best season in the Majors, and his best since 2021.

In the postseason for Seattle, Arozarena hit.188 with an OPS of just.574. He struggled, knocking in just two base runners and hitting one home run.

But his great fielding, combined with power potential, made the Mariners decision to come to terms on a new deal a no-brainer for the front office.

The 30-year-old slugging outfielder is back for the 2026 season and will be a free agent afterwards, as this will be his last year under club control.
