The Seattle Mariners had three key hitters hit free agency this offseason.
Josh Naylor has already been re-signed. Jorge Polanco still seems to be in the crosshairs for a new contract which might be coming soon. Eugenio Suarez is the guy who has had the least rumors and links to a return to the Mariners.
That could mean Suarez is destined to end up elsewhere.
One possible landing spot? An AL West rival, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
That's what MLB.com's Manny Randhawa has suggested in a new article on Monday.
"Suárez is coming off a season in which he launched a career-high-tying 49 homers before belting three more in the playoffs, including a memorable go-ahead grand slam in Game 5 of the AL Championship Series against the Blue Jays, a series Seattle ultimately lost in seven," Randhawa writes. "The Angels got a breakout performance from Jo Adell last season, when he hit a team-leading 37 homers. But with the great Mike Trout having been slowed by injury much of the past several seasons and no other 30-plus-homer performances other than Ward, Los Angeles could certainly use more thump in the lineup -- particularly at third base, where there is a vacancy now that Yoán Moncada is a free agent."

Suarez has a bit of risk involved.
Of his 49 home runs, 36 came for the Diamondbacks before the trade deadline. He hit just 13 in the regular season after arriving in Seattle, with all of his peripheral hitting stats looking much worse with the Mariners, too.
Overall, Suarez is a proven power hitter, but he's also getting older and is known for being streaky.
Seattle might not miss him, unless he happens to maintain his form upon joining a team like the Angels and instead takes it out on the Mariners.
