Julio Rodriguez enjoys the bright lights.
When the Seattle Mariners' star centerfielder gets to play on the postseason stage, he delivers.
Rodriguez has now notched an extra-base hit in five consecutive postseason games.
MLB Network's Sarah Langs shares that this has set two records:
- It's the longest such streak by a player under the age of 25 in postseason history
- It's also the longest streak in Mariners postseason history
Rodriguez delivered his latest extra-base hit in absolutely clutch fashion.
He came to the plate Sunday in Game 2 of the ALDS with the contest tied 2-2 with the Detroit Tigers. The Mariners had already lost the opener and couldn't afford another defeat in the best-of-five series.
With a man on, Julio turned on a double to left field to bring home Cal Raleigh for a 3-2 lead, and Seattle held on for the win.

The Mariners are now heading to Detroit for Game 3 on Tuesday, and it'll continue to be a challenge. Playoff baseball is almost always difficult, no matter how good a team was in the regular season.
But with Julio on their side, the Mariners have to feel like they have a bit of an advantage.
Because at this point, there'll be a moment when Rodriguez delivers a big swing. That's how he operates in the postseason, and he'll be due to do it again very soon.
