The Seattle Mariners did it again.
Another home game, another win, another walk-off victory. The magic is definitely in the air again for these Mariners.
This time, it was Harry Ford, the young phenom still just getting his feet wet at the MLB level.
A Jorge Polanco double in the bottom of the 12th inning eventually led to a Ford sacrifice fly to beat the Angels, 7-6, on Thursday night.
It was the second consecutive walk-off winner for the Mariners, joining Leo Rivas and his walk-off home run in the 13th inning from the night before.
And the nature of those two walk-off moments made MLB history.
This is how OptaStats shared it: "Since RBI became official in 1920, the Mariners are the only MLB team to have a player who did not start the game deliver a walkoff RBI in the 12th inning or later in back-to-back games."
That's the kind of special stuff that happens for a team that feels primed to make a run into October.
The Mariners still have 15 games left. They can't slip up now, because they've got to hold onto their wild card spot (or potentially leapfrog the Houston Astros in the AL West).
But they're hitting their stride at the right time, for sure.
On Wednesday, Rivas expected to be given the bunt sign, but was told to swing away and eventually homered.
On Thursday, Ford showed just a bit of the moxie that made him a top prospect, but he had to wait his turn for a while this season even as fans clamored to bring him up.
The Mariners' lineup is potent, and their bench pieces seem to be quite clutch. It's a great combination.
And right now, Seattle is continuing to aim for the biggest of goals, and why not? They seem achievable.
