The Seattle Mariners are coming off quite a season. While they were bested by the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS, it was a season to be proud of.

It was a team effort, but you cannot deny the presence Cal Raleigh had this year. He is coming off a career year where he only missed three games, hitting.247/.359/.589 with an MLB-leading 60 home runs and 125 runs batted in.

Raleigh became the seventh player in MLB history to hit 60 home runs, and he holds the most home runs by a catcher and a switch-hitter in a single season. He was also the first catcher and switch-hitter to win the Home Run Derby and did it in style by having his younger brother catch for him and his father pitching to him.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh named MLBPA Player of the Year after historic season

Cal Raleigh was recently named AllSportsPeople' Player of the Year. However, he is taking home even more hardware after the MLBPA listed their season awards on Wednesday, via CBS.

Raleigh has been named AL's most outstanding player and Player of the Year altogether. He edged out New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge in the AL and edged out Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani for Player of the Year.

If the player's vote indicates anything, we could see Raleigh taking home his first American League MVP Award. But that award will not be revealed until November 13, alongside MLB's other awards like Cy Young and Rookie of the Year.
