The San Francisco Giants have made a few moves this offseason, but nothing earth-shattering. They added starting pitcher Adrian Houser while stabilizing the bullpen by adding Jason Foley and Sam Hentges. 

They have also signed multiple minor league deals, but will have to do much more if they want a chance to push over the hump and move on from a few.500 seasons over the past couple of years. 

They could still use another frontline starter to pair behind Logan Webb and Robbie Ray. They could also use some help in the outfield and potentially at second base. 

So, don't expect them to remain quiet the rest of the way out.

With options on the open market starting to dwindle, the Giants could turn to the trade market. There are plenty of intriguing players whose respective organizations have dangled. 

According to Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly, one player who could be a great fit for San Francisco is Brendan Donovan. 

"Donovan puts the ball in play pretty consistently, so he's capable of hitting at just about any spot in the lineup, be it for Tony Vitello or anyone else."

Kelly believes the former Gold Glove Award winner could help San Francisco both offensively and defensively. He is coming off a season in which he played in 118 games, hitting.287/.353/.422 with 10 home runs and 50 runs batted in, while playing four different positions. 

His ability to play multiple positions further helps the Giants fill holes when they need to and move guys around. However, unlike the open market, San Francisco could take a bit of a hit in trying to acquire Donovan. They would have to send some solid prospects the St. Louis Cardinals' way if they want to swing this deal.
