The San Francisco Giants' underwhelming 2025 season is something they hope is just an aberration.
They'll bring a lot of talent in this upcoming campaign, particularly if they make another addition or two this offseason in free agency or trades.
One guy still out there who might fit the Giants is Marcell Ozuna, the slugger from the Braves who has 296 home runs in his career.
ESPN's David Schoenfield, in a new article on Friday, pitched San Francisco as a logical landing spot for Ozuna.
"The Braves have moved on, with Jurickson Profar and Drake Baldwin likely soaking up the DH at-bats, perhaps leaving the Padres and Giants as the most logical fits," Schoenfield writes. "Of those two teams, the Giants have more payroll flexibility. They would have to make Rafael Devers the everyday first baseman while keeping top prospect Bryce Eldridge in the minors for another season (he might need another season in Triple-A anyway). But they might also see Ozuna as Jorge Soler 2.0 and want no part of that."

There is a case to be made that the Giants shouldn't clog up their DH spot with Ozuna, thus boxing out Eldridge.
There's also a case to be made that the Giants could use more thump in the lineup, and that if Ozuna doesn't cost too much, it's worth seeing how much slug he has left in the tank.
In the end, a deal with a DH-only veteran like Ozuna probably mostly comes down to cost. If San Francisco doesn't have to invest much, it's easy enough to cut ties if it doesn't work. But after a career of contributions, Ozuna will probably still be looking for a quality payday.
It's at least something to keep an eye on. A move like this could also tell us what the Giants really think of Eldridge.
