The San Francisco Giants should've been better in 2025.
That's the cloud hanging over their head as they go through this offseason and toward a new campaign ahead. How do they avoid disappointing again?
It starts by adding big talent.
So far, the Giants have made small moves, signing free agents Adrian Houser and Tyler Mahle. They aren't exactly going to be selling extra tickets.
The Giants could really use a guy like Bo Bichette, the Blue Jays star hitter who is sought after by a lot of teams.
MLB.com's Jared Greenspan and Theo DeRosa explained briefly in a new article on Thursday how Bichette could fit in with the Giants.
"The Giants must decide whether they feel comfortable ceding the bulk of playing time at second base to 26-year-old Casey Schmitt," the MLB.com duo writes. "Maybe a deal with Bichette makes sense, if he is willing to slide over from shortstop."

Bichette is expected to move off shortstop eventually. He's not a great defender there. Not every team would necessarily make that choice immediately.
The Giants, with Willy Adames at shortstop, would shift Bichette to second if he signed, since Matt Chapman is already at third base.
San Francisco has proven it isn't opposed to shelling out big money. Bichette would get a contract in the ballpark of $150 million in total value. The Giants might be wise to give it to him if he wants to come to the Bay Area.
