Giants' Casey Schmitt becomes 1st player in franchise history with amazing grand slam feat image

Think about the amazing home run hitters in Giants baseball history, from the days in New York to the time in San Francisco.

Mel Ott. Willie Mays. Willie McCovey. Barry Bonds. The list goes on. And none of them ever did what the mighty Casey Schmitt just did this weekend.

Schmitt launched a grand slam on Friday night.

And then on Saturday, Schmitt hit another grand slam.

It's the first time in franchise history that the same player had hit a grand slam in back-to-back games for the Giants, according to MLB's Sarah Langs.

It's also only the fifth-time ever that the Giants hit grand slams in consecutive games between any two players.

For it to be Schmitt that did this is remarkable.

Before Friday, he had hit 14 home runs in his entire MLB career.

The 26-year old is a solid infielder but hasn't quite been able to stick around full time at the MLB level.

But man, it's tough to ignore consecutive grand slams.

No matter what happens from here on out, Schmitt will always have this magical couple of days to remember some of the peak moments of his MLB career.
