Pittsburgh Pirates superstar Paul Skenes has gone for a new look.
The dominant right-handed pitcher has opted to be clean-shaven, including getting rid of his long-time mustache.
Photographs are pretty striking. This is a totally different dude.
The latest emerged via the Buffalo Bills' social media team. Skenes apparently was in town, and he stopped in to meet MVP quarterback Josh Allen.
Aside from realizing just how big a human Skenes as he stands next to Allen, it's also pretty crazy to see the different look of his face:

There's no telling whether Skenes will grow his facial hair back in the couple months before the World Baseball Classic.
It's also unlikely, of course, that a clean-shaven Skenes will be any less ferocious on the mound.
It's still a shocking change, though. Fans get used to a guy looking a certain way, and this is rather different from Skenes.
The Pirates have had a successful offseason so far, and their fanbase will just be hoping they don't lose mojo with the departure of Skenes' facial hair.
