If the Philadelphia Phillies are serious about winning a World Series over the next few years, fixing what needs to be addressed is something Dave Dombrowski will have to do to ensure his team even has a chance.

When we look at what the Phillies have done over the past few seasons, the biggest issues continue to be in the outfield.

The Phillies have tried to address those problems by landing platoon bats like Max Kepler, Harrison Bader, and others over the past few years, but none have truly done the job at the level the team needs from an everyday outfielder.

The latest signing was Adolis Garcia, who fits that same mold after a few tough years with the Texas Rangers.

Reports have indicated that Philadelphia is willing to move on from some of its top prospects. With multiple players potentially available via trade, there’s reason to believe the Phillies could show interest in someone like Jarren Duran.

It’s not a guarantee that the Boston Red Sox will move on from Duran, but according to the latest from Jim Bowden of The Athletic, they would be willing to do so if they received a right-handed corner infielder or a starting pitcher in return.

"The Cardinals will move Brendan Donovan, the Giants will listen on Bryce Eldridge, the Padres are shopping Jake Cronenworth and Nick Pivetta, the Astros are trying to move Christian Walker and Jake Meyers, the Royals will move a starter for a power-hitting left fielder and the Red Sox will trade Jarren Duran if they get the right corner infielder or starting pitcher," Bowden wrote.

The Phillies’ farm system is loaded with pitching prospects, but it seems unlikely they’d be willing to move someone like Andrew Painter for Duran.

Not because Duran isn’t a good player, but because Painter is expected to be one of the foundational pieces of Philadelphia’s future.
