The Philadelphia Phillies clinched the NL East and one of the top two records in baseball this season. What this means is that the Phillies have secured a first-round bye, meaning they skip straight to the National League Division Series.
Instead of playing in the Wild Card, the Phillies will face the winner of a Wild Card series, welcoming that team to Citizens Bank Park on October 4th for game 1 of the NLDS.
But, with some time between the NLDS and their final game of the regular season, the Phillies are having an intra-squad game on Wednesday, October 1st. According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, Phillies fans can go to the game at 6 p.m. and watch the Phillies before their NLDS matchup, which begins just a few days later.
The Phillies are playing an intra-squad game in front of fans that will benefit local Phillies charities
"The Phillies are having an intra-squad game at 6 p.m. on Wednesday," Zolecki reports. "It's open to the public. $10 tickets for sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday at phillies.com. Seating is available in the lower seating bowl. Proceeds benefit Phillies Charities. Parking is free."

This intra-squad game is a good opportunity for the Phillies to stay loose during their downtime between Sunday's 2025 regular season finale and the following Saturday's NLDS Game 1.
Not only will Phillies fans get to watch their team one last time before the postseason begins in Philadelphia, but they will also get free parking, and the cheap $10 tickets benefit charity.
It's a win-win for Phillies fans, and for the Phillies players, it's a chance to stay loose and not build up rust as they wait to see who they'll face in the NLDS this season.
Last season, the Phillies had the intra-squad matchup ahead of the NLDS, and while they fell flat in the postseason, the Phillies this season are heading into October as one of the hottest teams in baseball.
In the matchup of Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber's teams in 2024, the game ended in a 5-5 tie, as Harper, Nick Castellanos, and Weston Wilson all hit home runs.

This game could also present the Phillies a chance to see Trea Turner in game action before the NLDS, if they opt not to play him in the regular season finale against the Minnesota Twins.
Also, aside from shaking off the rust before the NLDS, this game could help Rob Thomson make some of the more difficult roster decisions. The main one to keep an eye on is in the outfield, and whether Weston Wilson or Otto Kemp makes the postseason roster.
They both have a chance to earn that spot, and while their performance in the intra-squad game won't matter a lot, it could help finalize Thomson's decision, since, as evidenced by the team's intensity last season, the Phillies won't go easy during the intra-squad game.
The Phillies are having an intra-squad game at CBP ahead of the NLDS, and are inviting fans to come watch, with proceeds benefiting Phillies charities.
